Congratulations to Kim DePietro, EWG, HOBY winner! A gentleman named Hugh O’Brian believed in the potential of every human being and was committed to helping young people of the world become significant contributors to society. In 1958, the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) was formed. His legacy lives on today, with more than 500,000 HOBY alumni making a difference in the lives of others, thanks to the vision and passion of HOBY’s founder, Hugh O’Brian. The format was simple: bring a group of high school sophomores with leadership potential together with a group of distinguished leaders in business, education, and government and let the two interact and grow together in a university environment. These young leaders got a realistic look at what it takes to positively impact a community, better enabling them “to think for themselves.” Hoby is awarded to only one sophomore each year, one of the most prestigious honors in a high school career.

Good Morning! I am sharing details about the Wreaths Across America event to be held at the Junior-Senior High School next Monday (December 11th). We are so proud and excited to host this important event to honor many military heroes. The convoy is set to arrive on our campus at 4:45 PM, with the ceremony starting at 5:15 PM in the newly renovated auditorium. The ceremony will take about an hour, and we will then serve dinner to the members of the convoy as well as our invited guests and ceremony participants. We have received enough community and business donations to cover the entire cost of the catered dinner for approximately 225 people! This is an amazing show of support for our military and a reminder of the generosity of our community. THANK YOU!! Community members are welcome to attend the ceremony, however, we do have limited parking and limited seating. Alternatives to view the presentation are available as follows: The event will be live on Wreaths Radio and that would be found on this link: https://www. wreathsacrossamerica.org/ then click the Wreaths Radio. EWG will also live stream the event on Youtube: https://youtube.com/live/7reO_GThAAU?feature=share https://ewgrsd.org/waa Parking will be available in the following areas: The senior lot, the greenhouse lot, any of the spots around the perimeter of the JSHS building, and the administration lot. The front of the building and the small new lot across from the senior lot will be closed for convoy vehicles and the mobile education center (which will be available to the community prior to the ceremony). We are reserving handicap parking on the junior high school side of the building (almost completely around the one-way access road). Anyone who needs to be dropped off at the main entrance (the clock tower), can do so prior to the convoy arrival. The driver can then drive back around to any of the available parking areas as described above. Community members who wish to attend should plan on arriving before 4:35 to avoid interfering with the convoy. I hope you will be able to find the time to view this amazing event. We will keep the Youtube link available for viewing after the fact if that is a more convenient option. Thank you again for your incredible support. Sincerely, James Erinakes Superintendent https://wreathsacrossamerica.org/
